Caveats

logic_level_v=3.3 from Raspberry Pi hardware docs (GPIO pins are 3.3 V, inputs not 5 V; docs page is generic to current boards, no Pi 5-specific VIH/VIL). Production-until-2036 is a manufacturer statement only (page and brief agree). The product brief gives Vulkan 1.2 while the page says Vulkan 1.3. (2026-10-18) GPIO bus list from the generic Raspberry Pi hardware docs page plus RP1 peripherals datasheet (build 2023-11-07). The docs page voltage table (VIL/VIH) covers BCM2835-BCM2711 products only; no Pi 5 / RP1 pad VIH/VIL figures were found in the fetched text, so none are recorded. Which RP1 blocks reach the header on Pi 5 beyond the pin mapping listed is not stated in fetched sources.

Claims 9
  • Raspberry Pi 5 uses a Broadcom BCM2712 quad-core Cortex-A76 at 2.4 GHz with RAM options up to 16GB. Evidence: Documented

  • Raspberry Pi 5 will remain in production until at least January 2036. Evidence: Documented

    Source: src-rpi5-product

  • Raspberry Pi OS versions older than Bookworm do not work with Pi 5. Evidence: Documented

    Source: src-rpi5-product

  • A Pi 4 power supply may be under-powered; a 5V 5A USB-C supply is recommended. Evidence: Documented

    Source: src-rpi5-product

  • Raspberry Pi 5 GPIO header pins are 3.3 V logic; do not apply 5 V to them. Evidence: Documented

    Source: src-rpi-docs-hardware

  • The RP1 I/O controller (which provides the Pi 5 GPIO) has 28 GPIO pins and supports 5 UART, 6 SPI and 4 I2C blocks; its GPIO bank supports 1.8 V or 3.3 V supply with interface timings specified at 3.3 V. Evidence: Documented

    Source: src-rp1-peripherals

  • On the 40-pin header, the Raspberry Pi hardware documentation lists I2C on GPIO2/GPIO3, SPI0 and SPI1, serial on GPIO14/GPIO15 and hardware PWM on GPIO12/13/18/19 (generic page for current boards). Evidence: Documented

    Source: src-rpi-docs-hardware

  • PCIe on Pi 5 defaults to Gen 2.0 (5 GT/s); Gen 3 (8 GT/s) can be enabled with dtparam=pciex1_gen=3 but Raspberry Pi states Pi 5 is not certified for Gen 3 and links may be unstable. Evidence: Documented

    Source: src-rpi-docs-pcie

  • Pi 5 bootloader property POWER_OFF_ON_HALT=1 puts the PMIC in standby on halt (default 0); WAKE_ON_GPIO is not relevant on Pi 5. Evidence: Documented
